Πληροφορίες για τα ποσά που δαπανούσε η ελληνική κυβέρνηση σε ελληνικές και ξένες Μη Κυβερνητικές Οργανώσεις στο Ιράκ έρχεται να μας υπενθυμίσει τηλεγράφημα της αμερικανικής πρεσβείας στην Αθήνα με ημερομηνία 9 Σεπτεμβρίου 2005.
Μεταξύ των ελληνικών ΜΚΟ αίσθηση προκαλεί το ποσό των 516 χιλιάδων ευρώ προς την οργάνωση «Ευρωπαϊκή Προοπτική». Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της Ελευθεροτυπίας η συγκεκριμένη οργάνωση είναι «δημιούργημα του Παντελή Σκλια, στενού φίλου και συνεργάτη του πρώην υφυπουργού Εξωτερικών και αρμόδιου για τις ΜΚΟ, Ευριπίδη Στυλιανίδη». Σύμφωνα με το ίδιο δημοσίευμα η «Ευρωπαϊκή Προοπτική», έλαβε περισσότερα από πέντε εκατομμύρια ευρώ σε τρία χρόνια.
Με 100.000 ευρώ επιβραβεύτηκε για το έργο της στο Ιράκ καη η IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charity). Πρόκειται για την ΜΚΟ με την οποία έγινε αρχικά γνωστός στην Ελλάδα ο πολυπράγμων σύμβουλος του Γ.Παπανδρέου (αλλά και του προέδρου της Γεωργίας), Αλεξ Ρόντος.

Per reftel request, the MFA has provided us with the following data on the GoG's Iraq reconstruction disbursements to date. (All of GoG's official reconstruction funds are disbursed through UN agencies or Greek NGOs operating in Iraq.) ¶2. Under the category of "Development Assistance": A) Two million euros in technical assistance for demining in southern Iraq. B) 330,000 euros for the upgrade of the Baghdad Pediatrics Clinic and a computer training center at the University of Baghdad. C) 75,000 euros for medical equipment to maternity centers (in cooperation the Iraqi organization "Al Amal" in Erbil). D) 225,000 euros for the establishment of a Greek center for supporting orphans and children wounded during the Iraq conflict. E) 50,000 euros to the "International Crisis Group" for organizing seminars and exhibits on the theme of "Restoring Peace to Iraq." ¶3. Under the category of "Humanitarian Assistance": A) 1.5 million euros in humanitarian assistance to UN relief agencies. B) 175,090 euros for equipping emergency rescue teams and mobile medical units.
